Gene Simmons is a 1978 solo album by Gene Simmons, the bassist and co-vocalist of the American hard rock band Kiss. It was one of four solo albums released by the members of Kiss on September 18, 1978. Reaching number 22 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart, it was the highest-placing of all the four Kiss solo albums. Mainly a hard rock album, it also features choirs and string arrangements on some songs, as well as incorporating various musical genres including Beatles-inspired pop, 1970s funk, and. Gene Simmons born Chaim Witz on August 25, 1949 is an Israeli American rock bassist, vocalist, and actor. He is best known as The Demon, the blood-spitting, fire-breathing, and tongue-wagging bassist and one of the lead vocalists in the hard rock band KISS, and act he co-founded in the early 1970s. Simmons also contends that he has never been high, drunk, or smoked in his life. Except for one incident where he ingested brownies he didn't know were pot-laced at a party in the '70's. Gene Simmons is best known as the frontman for KISS, the rock band he co-founded in the early 1970s, as well as for his TV show 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Musician Gene Simmons first decided he wanted to be in a band while in middle school, after watching girls scream at The Beatles on television. He was in several bands before co-founding KISS with Paul Stanley in the 1970s. Simmons later pursued interests in fashion, publishing and acting, and starred in the A&E reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Early Life.
