The Flying Club Cup is the second studio album by Balkan folk-influenced indie folk band Beirut, released on October 9, 2007 on 4AD Records. The album features string arrangements by Arcade Fire contributor Owen Pallett, also known by his former stage name Final Fantasy. Condon said about the name and inspiration for the album: Back in the early used to be this hot air balloon festival in Paris- titled after that and. The Flying Club Cup. Beirut's second LP purportedly takes inspiration from French chanson of yesteryear as opposed to the Balkan folk of yesteryear. The music remains quite recognizably Beirut-in all its oom-pa glory-but the production value is stepped up a notch. The Flying Club Cup is the second album by Beirut. The album was leaked onto the internet on August 26, 2007. It features string arrangements by Owen Pallett, better known by his stage name Final Fantasy, and was mastered by Griffin Rodriguez. Nice reissue of Beirut's best album. Not as heavy as my original european copy but it sounds just as good if not a litte clearer and still very silent. I also quite like the new front cover artwork as it suits the music nicely. I never really liked the original cover because it was just the same idea as with the first album. 답글 나에게 알림 Helpful. funker9000. 2019년 8월 31일. Recording started in a small studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later finished in Arcade Fires Petite Église , a renovated church in Farnham, Quebec. The album features a larger, more rounded range of instrumental accompaniments, including string arrangements by Owen Pallett, who is well known as a contributor on two Arcade Fire albums Funeral and Neon Bible. According to notes given out at Beiruts performance at the Society of Ethical Culture in 2007, each song in this album is meant to evoke a different city in Fra. And Beirut knows how to finish an album in style, the title-track a mesh of the best pieces to The Flying Club Cups puzzle coming together with group singing that wavers into the drunken drum roll of its final segment. Its just part of that wide-eyed explorer charm seeping through after a night of heavy drinking with old best friends. It may not always be immediate, but Beirut still manages to weave an enthralling tale. And theres no doubt this aged club member has more than enough exploration stories under his belt, even if it takes a little digging to find it. Its more than worth the eff
